RSVP [ Mr.Stress]

Are you a last minute wait on the very Hour person?.. A procrastinator?
    
Of course i wait on the very hour to complete an assignment or project. Why? because i always feel like i have all the time in the world. =)

In my mind time moves so slowly as though the minute and second hand of the clock is in The slowest motion. "Am i Hallucinating?" I wish! 

Then Reality sets in & time starts flying like bats on steroids & your world starts spinning
 grruhhh.. 

You begin to stress out x6354627281612!!!!

So what do you do when you are overly stressed? When you just want to say "Fuck It!" but you can't just abandon the task. 

1. Organize the Time you still have. 
   This keeps you in check. It helps you maintain a sense of being in charge of your task. You ultimately want to feel like you have the time in the world to finish your task and not have a feeling of being rushed. Having a time slot of what you have to do will help you cross out items off your time sheet. Which makes you feel like a BOSS! =)

2. Deep Breaths & Optimism. 
     When you feel like you are bouncing off the wall! Heart beat racing! Panic attacks! All you have to is chill the fuck out. Breath in! act like you are a prego who is in labor & do the breathing "EEee-Whoo" exercise!. If you have no one to encourage you & tell you that you are "AWESOME!" & "You can do it!" & "it's NO Biggie!" Then look in the mirror & tell your self that! reassure your mind & body. Say. "(Name) You Can Do THIS!" then smile. =). Mind over matter. It will reduce your stress.


3. Scream or Slap yourself!
When stressed you feel under a lot of pressure. So why not just explode? Get it over with. Release that    unnecessary pressure like you are poppin' champagne!. Scream, Cry, Slap yourself? what ever makes you overcome the feeling of drowning. When you are done with that, I bet you a red face that you shall feel a whole lot better and more at ease towards completing your task.
4. Have a Drink
   Drinking helps relax the mind & body. Drink tea, water, coffee, a shot (Don't get Drunk). What ever is your preference. When you feel relaxed, body in its regular motion then you can accomplish your task gracefully. It's important not to take too much caffeine although it's a good energy boost but when under stress it's not a good combination. It will only make you more stress by overexerting the brain & its hormones. 

5. Eliminate distractions
   It's so easy to be distracted especially when stressed about a specific task because the mind just does not want to deal with it. Avoid it at all cost!. You want to focus your time & energy on your task not on Facebook, the football game, twitter or that funny video you have been dying to watch on YouTube -___-. Cut it out & Focus!


When you are stress it has a toil on your health. We all want to be in the best Health & Wellness state as possible. Besides no one wants Wrinkles!!!!.So when you find yourself panicking & screaming "Why ME LORD!" 

just remember what Cynthia said & just chill the fuck out!

Hic! Hic! Hiccups!

The worst thing that can happen is to be in an important discussion, meeting or giving a speech AND all of a sudden you start hiccuping!!!


..beyond embarrassing!!!


I'm sure you often wonder, Why am i hiccuping?! or Where do Hiccups come from?
hmmm...Let's take a minute to Ponder... 


..tic tock tic tock..


Hiccups are involuntary muscle spasms in the diaphragm [muscle between chest & abdomen]. The spasms cause intake of breath that are stopped by closure of the vocal chords. Which causes the "Hic" sound.


There are SO much Explanations towards what causes hiccups. -->Yikes!. Here is a mini list of popular reasons towards why you hiccup.. 
1. Eating too quickly
2. Drinking a lot of  alcohol
3. Breathing in too much air...
4. excitement!!!
5. Stress..
6. Change in stomach temperature. [ Hot to Cold drink]


These reasons seem familiar. Right? Of course!..I have heard & told most people that is why they are probably hiccuping. It's just one of the many things people know...like how Pluto is not a planet anymore. =0 
I have always wondered how long a person's hiccup lasts?
Mine often last for a few minutes..but others can last for Hours!!.[ Ay Carumba!]


I enjoy hearing/reading of methods towards getting rid of hiccups. It is so fascinating & Amusing! People just have crazy notions and concepts. love love love!
When i get a hiccup... i decide if i want to wait it out or use one of my crazy ideas to resolve it.
Sometimes hiccups sound as cute as a cute sneeze. [or..Maybe it's just me..]
anyhow...This is one of the things i do.
- I Drink WATER! <--- Does it work? YES! For me it Does =)
BUT if you are like many Random-Heads out there. You probably have a better technique. So i Began my search of Crazy-Hiccup-Resolver- Ideas...enjoy!. =)


1. Breathe in a Paper Bag 
2. Close your mouth with your hands for about 2minutes
3. Do jumping Jacks
4. Hold your breathe & slowly count to 10 [in your head!]
5. Pull Hard on your Tongue 
6.  Eating a Teaspoon of Honey
7. Get Scared! or Surprised! 
8. Drink something with Gas --> Soda!
9. Drink water..while holding your breathe
10.Smell Salt ?
11. Place Sugar at the back of the Tongue


Hiccups may feel like it lasts forever...especially when all eyes are staring at you with a "SHUT UP!" look plastered on their faces. Well no need to Fret! now you have 11 interesting ways to get rid of that annoying Hic-Hic-Hiccup!

Reasons why to Cuddle =)

.....shussssshhh....

Valentines day is coming up... very soon...i hear you should seal the day by cuddling =)

Are you ...
Tired of lame excuses for not cuddling?
do you need healthy reasons to get your significant other to cuddle with you?
 or...do you simply want to know why cuddling makes you feel soo good. ?

Here are 3 Healthy reasons why YOU + Him/Her should cuddle..not just because you demand it..but your health does =)

1.  It reduces high blood pressure & stress: 
    This has to do with Physical contact. 
Take for instance, a patient who is about to under go surgery & the nurse reassures him/her but goes a step further & touches his/her arm... the person suddenly feels less stressed and calm. BINGO!  Cuddling makes you feel calm & secure which ultimately reduces your blood pressure & keeps you in a chill-laxx mode. 
You ask why? This has to do with the body increasing the oxytocin levels <-- a "pair-bonding/ feel-Good" hormone which helps the body reduce blood pressure & anxiety. 

2. It FEELS GOOD!! :
    Hugs feel good, Kisses feel good [great], cuddling most definitely should feel G-O-O-D. 
  LG [Life's-Good...when you cuddle]. 
  why? It has to do with the "feel-Good" hormone oxytocin ..which makes you feel happy & in la-la- Land. 
 Also the body increase endorphin levels. Ever felt really good after eating your favorite food or candy? or ever felt good after working out? this feel-good feeling has to do with an increase of endorphin..these are neurotransmitters in the brain and gives you that Feel- Good feeling. 


3. BONDING TIME!!!:
   When a mother truly bonds with her baby..it does not happen when she is stares down at the baby or strokes the baby.. but & only when she cuddles with her baby. So cuddling with your adult-baby creates a good bonding experience for both. 
There is a sense of security and openness which ultimately leads to comfort in communicating. Communication is healthy in any relationship
..less fights..less glares..less wrinkles..less screaming..less arm-workout when you throw things..the 'less' list goes on & on & on. 
cuddling is the secret to having a true bond. 


If he/she does not want to cuddle..especially on Val-day. Don't Hiss & Glare or Curse at him/her. Just throw some Healthy facts at His/Her face! and watch them come crawling to you for some cuddle-cuddle. 
Get a cuddle buddy! 
why? because it is Doctor recommended 


so lets be like fabric softener & snuggle

Dominican Republic remedy

DAY TWO takes us to DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!


How do Dominicans combat a Cold/Flu without taking any pills?
They drink SANCOCHO a soup similar to chicken noodle soup..it consists of white rice, red beans and meat. Served Hot.
In order to get rid of a sour throat or a cough, they take Lemons or Drink Lemon tea as a remedy. 
A Remedy Dominicans believe is soaking naturally grown herbal sticks called Mamajuana in Rum and drinking it as a remedy to cleanse the body & prevent Cold/Flu symptoms. 


Great! Don't you think? Mr. D.R believes so..Don't you?

Health Myth Buster

...so i heard eggs give you good hair...






A Health Myth Buster is that shaving your head and rubbing EGGS on it will make your hair grow more healthy. 
Just ask the Mexican actress, Salma Hayek, whose grandmother used eggs on her head.
Now her hair seems fabulously healthy!
so is this TRUE? 
I was somewhat skeptical about this. Eggs on hair. hmm..  INTRIGUING!!!


Eggs are a good source of nutrition. They contain a good source of:
 Vitamin D: GREAT of reducing Hair Loss
 Vitamin A:  GREAT for Scalp Health.
 Vitamin B:  GREAT for Preventing Graying 
 Biotin:  GREAT for improving Hair Thickness.


And the VERDICT is. EGGS are a GREAT for Hair. I wouldn't necessarily promote shaving your head..maybe once a week massage your hair with whisked eggs..leave it in for awhile then rinse it out.

Philippines remedy

DAY ONE of 7 DAYS OF [COLD/FLU] ENLIGHTENMENT


Lets all take a trip to the Philippines!!! meet with the Filipino people, Eat, Tour and Relax!.
..sounds like an absolute good vacation until you get a Cold/Flu symptom- Cough and Sour Throat.


How do you get rid of this without taking any pills? 


A combination of Hot/Warm Water, Salt, Ginger and Honey will work wonders! & in ample time you are singing & talking your vacation away!.

Just a THOUGHT

...so i heard Mondays are the LEAST favorite Day of the week...


Proper Structure & Organization are the core foundation for success. Therefore, i will make Mondays- A Just a THOUGHT day. 


Just a Thought..


I was watching CNN..[ the News channel ]& just Heard the FDA has approved a new treatment for the most common skin cancer. [YAY!]. What is this cancer? - BASAL CELL CARCINOMA. Which starts at the epidermis (1st layer of skin) & slowly grows. It is caused by ultraviolet radiations & sun rays. The treatment is for persons in the advance state of the cancer, which is when the cancer has spread to various parts of the body.
The Pill (Not Radiation!) is called Erivedge & should be taken once a day. It inhibits the [Hedgehog] pathway an active part of the cell. 


I'm sure most people are having mixed feelings about this. Happy & Worry. Happy: Finally have a treatment! Worry: The side effects are going to be hell!  
..i read some side effects are hair loss, nausea, diarrhea, muscle spasms , loss of appetite, pregnancy risks & birth defects e.t.c


It is Available tomorrow & is quite expensive. 


My thoughts are..EVERY Discovery to benefiting ones health is GOOD Discovery. All pills have side effects. It's ones choice which is most valuable: ones Health & Wellness or potential Side-Effects.

7 days of [Cold/Flu] Enlightenment

...so i heard through the Cynthia's-Grape-Vine..


You & I ..WE are surrounded by people of different cultures & nationalities & beliefs. Blessed [?] YES. In the aspect of Gaining wisdom from others.


True...People do act & reason differently based on cultural influences & lifestyle. Here is a Positive!. Since i began talking about the weather... & the effects of the cold weather . .E.g: Common Colds & Flu. I ought to have a [what i cleverly call] 7 DAYS OF ENLIGHTENMENT [ yes YES! Be Excited!]


Of course you are thinking...what is this about? Not to worry I shall explain!. =D


7 days of the week...I share different daily methods/skills/ideologies of people from diverse cultural background  and how they COMBAT a Cold/Flu without the use of Western Medicine. 


YAY!.. this may come in handy if you are ever trapped on an Island/Jungle  =)

Hello Season =D

...so i heard [almost] EVERYONE is bound to get sick this winter...


Yes. Lets talk about the Season -->Winter & the bipolar weather. One day it is relatively warm for winter temperature The NEXT day it is SUPER COLD & Windy. This unstable temperature is bound to leave someone with a COLD/FLU.


SO. I believe people do not know if they have a common cold & the Flu. Of course either way it an excuse to Call-Off from work/school =D.[YAY?]. It all depends on the severity of your symptoms: running nose, sore throat, coughing, headaches, Fatigue. SAME Longevity 
HOWEVER... 
Combating it can be different..common colds are mostly bacterial infections which can be resolved by over the counter antibiotics or Cold relief/ Nasal relief/ sore throat relief pills. BUT. if its caused by a virus then you are screwed! antibiotics don't help soo..tough it out with symptom relievers. 
Combating The FLU [a virus..] Then YEP!. you have to get a flu vaccine..which would help greatly..+ no worries about getting Pneumonia or sinus/ear infections =) 
[Side-NOTE]. Most people don't believe in getting the flu-shot..but it would help greatly. Especially when it is gotten before the season. =). Last year i got one & totally flu/cold free ALL winter. [YAY!] But it's your Health CHOICE. -__-


Well the weather is not most peoples favorite [so i hear..] but you can have fun dressing warmly with peacoats & matching gloves & hats & Don't forget the Boots! =) ALSO..always WASH your Hands -___-
